11′ 613.270 Ecuadorian attend the polls today

Starting from 07:00 am, William Valarezo, Commander of the  Guayas police district , stated at the headquarters of the Electoral Council of Guayas, that  the unique novelty so far was that there were 54 people imprisoned for breaking the alcohol prohibition law.

In total 11′ 613.270 Ecuadorians are entitled to elect 5.651 sectional authorities today: 221 mayors, 23 prefects and Vice-prefects, 867 Urban Councillors, 438 rural and 4.079 vowels of the rural parish boards.

The President of the Republic, Rafael Correa, already voted at 07:30 at the colegio San Francisco de Quito.
