12 undertakings are posed before OAS meeting
Mexico and Uruguay will suggest at the next meeting of the Organization of American States (OAS) to adopt future meetings of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR).
After this, the Ecuadorian Chancellery, through a text published on its website, said that these nations have the willingness to “host the sessions of the Commission during the next two years”.
It also notes that this will be proposed at the general meeting of the OAS to be held next week in Asuncion, Paraguay.
Foreign Minister Ricardo Patino said that the declaration comprises twelve “commitments” to strengthen the Inter-American System of Human Rights (ISHR), according to a bulletin from the Chancellery. It is also added that Patiño described the appointment as positive.
