The Minister Carina Vance confirmed this week that the number of fatalities for the H1N1 influenza was 14, while the confirmed cases are 187.
According to the reports from the provincial departments of health in the country, the H1N1 positive cases were reported in 15 provinces. In Cotopaxi there are 5 confirmed cases and 4 possible infected while in Sucumbios and Morona Santiago it was reported that there are 3 and 5 confirmed cases, respectively.
According to the website of the Ministry of Health, other provinces that registered infections are: Napo, Pastaza, Carchi, Pichincha, Tungurahua, Cotopaxi, Chimborazo, Canar, Azuay, Santo Domingo, Los Rios, Manabi and Guayas.
A report from the Respiratory Infection Surveillance Agua Grave, from the Ministry of Public Health, reporded 1179 people infected with respiratory viruses.
