The Special Court of the United States (U.S.) for the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance authorized to the National Security Agency (NSA) to spy 193 countries, according to classified documents, cited today by the newspaper The Washington Post.
“Virtually no foreign government is off-limits for the National Security Agency, which has been authorized to intercept information “concerning” all but four countries,” the newspaper said on its website.
The four countries with which the U.S. has no espionage agreements are Britain, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
Highly confidential documents referred by the newspaper form part of the leaked information by former intelligence analyst Edward Snowden, noted The Washington Post.
