$ 24 million will be Invested in the Ecuadorian Referendum
After the official announcement of the referendum, the Ecuadorian National Electoral Council (CNE) began yesterday the process of the expenses budget for the process to be held on 7 May.
Last Thursday, the Ministry of Finance transferred $ 22 million to the CNE, an initial budget resolution requested by the Government last week, to start with the referendum proposed by President Rafael Correa.
According to the budget prepared by the finance department of the CNE, the budget for the referendum is $ 23’977 .991, without counting the amount that will be used for advertising slots in medias.
Among the most relevant items of the budget for the next process is the General Services, which includes electoral kits, flyers, transportation, distribution, training, consulting, polling stations, with a total of $ 7.4 million.
Another significant amount ($ 5.3 million) is earmarked for public sector current transfers, especially the Armed Forces, National Police, and consulates.
