The plenary of the Council of Citizen Participation and Social Control (Cpccs) qualified 27 of the 37 applicants to integrate the oversight commissions that will oversee the appointment process of the first authority of the Superintendency of Companies, Securities and Insurances and the Superintendency of Banks.
This group of citizens passed the stage of verification of requirements and disqualifications, established by the national agency for this selection.
Once the reports are released, the Cpccs will train and accredit the members of the citizen oversight. Subsequently, they will begin their civic and voluntary work.
The appointment of superintendents will be given on the basis of the lists presented by President Rafael Correa. Applicants shall undergo a competitive and merit examination, as determined under the Citizenship Act.
