40% more was retained in the Ecuador-Colombia border in 7 months
According to the National Customs Service of Ecuador (Senae), between January and July 2015, members of the entity seized merchandise totaling $ 22.17 million on the northern border. This represents 40% more than the similar period of 2014.
Textiles, cell phones, perishable goods, vehicles and liquors are in the list of the most valuable goods. The fate of the seized goods, after an investigative process may be destruction, auction or adjudication.

The most difficult time for review is in the afternoon and evenings, when the thousands of Ecuadorians buyers return, then long lines of vehicles are formed, which can take hours to be evacuated.
The National Customs Service of Ecuador considers that a traveler can enter the country articles for personal use without paying taxes. Among them: clothing, toiletries, processed foods, equipment for work activities and personal medicines.
