6.1M aftershock was felt last night in affected areas

The Geophysics Institute reported at least three aftershocks that measured more than 6 degrees on the Richter scale. The first, 6.1, occurred at 22h03: 40, in front of Bahia de Caraquez. The tremors have continued from 18h58 of Saturday, April 16.
“At 22:20 a second earthquake of 6.0 magnitude was recorded in the same area. These events are replications of the event of Saturday April 16, that reached a 7.8 magnitude. These earthquakes were felt in the provinces of Manabi, Esmeraldas, Santo Domingo, Quito, and Guayaquil. Aftershocks can continue for days, weeks, or even months,” said the Geophysical Institute on its Facebook page.
