7.8: professionals propose an extensive reconstruction

They saw that part of Ecuador was devastated by a 7.8 degrees earthquake and decided not to stand idly. Three weeks after the disaster, the Association of Civil Engineers and Architects of Guayas, along with 12 other professional associations, 14 social organizations and other bodies such as the Chamber of Construction, met to try to outline the next steps in the reconstruction of Ecuador.

 

The proposal, which was born as a forum for two sessions, resulted in a guide of humanitarian and technical actions authorities will be able to implement in the most affected areas by the earthquake, Manabi and Esmeraldas.

 

Specialists took advantage of six axes that will be covered by the World Habitat III conference, organized by United Nations and that will be held in the capital in October.
