Last Friday the Court of Criminal Guarantees of Guayas notified the ruling against the teacher and leader of the National Union of Educators (UNE) Mery Zamora, a month after that it was verbally announced her guilt for the crime of sabotage and terrorism.

The militant of the ‘Movimiento Popular Democratico’ (MPD) must also pay a fine of $87 according to the sentence which arrived on Thursday to the court box of Pedro Granja, defense attorney.

Granja assured that he will appeal the ruling and that Zamora will not flee the country, because there is no evidence against her, since she does not burst into the Aguirre Abad school as indicated in the judgment, because she was received by the rector.

Zamora, who is a teacher of a primary school in a community of Portoviejo (Manabi), said that she will continue to face the policy of terror and persecution of the Government.
