Colombia and Ecuador Began The Repatriation Of Prisoners

This Thursday, Colombia and Ecuador carried out the return and delivery of prisoners handed over to authorities in their respective countries. The event will come as witnesses of honor, “the Colombian Minister of Justice, German Vargas Lleras, and his Ecuadorian counterpart, Jose Serrano.

The delivery of the ten defendants Colombia and Ecuador, will take place at the international bridge Rumichaca, encircling the cities of Ipiales (Colombia) and Tulcán (Ecuador).

Ecuador’s Justice Minister reported that in the coming months it’s estimated that 90 Colombians return home to serve their sentences. Many of them have met their 50% of his sentence.

In Ecuador, there are about 750 Colombians prisoners, while in Colombia there are 54 are Ecuador detained, mostly for drug trafficking in both countries.
