Paulina Rubio’s trial might be held next year
Posted On 01 Dec 2011
Mexican singer Paulina Rubio will face a trial for not fulfilling a concert contract. The singer was supposed to perform in the Colombian town of Tunja, as part of the International Culture Festival Boyaca in August 2010.
El Fondo Mixto de Cultura de Boyacá, Corporación Cultural Viva la Música and CMG Entertainment sued Rubio in November 2010 and on Thursday, and have asked Judge John Schlesinger to set a date for trial in Miami.
“I ask you to issue an order of court,” said attorney Richard Wolfe in a court hearing in a court in downtown Miami. “I don’t think it’s possible to start the trial before February or March,” judge Schlesinger said.
The plaintiffs claim they expect to receive a $ 985,000 compensation as minimum to cover damages. They also claim that the show was paid in advance.
