National Geographic celebrates its anniversary with a cover of Yasuní

The renowned magazine National Geographic celebrates its 125th anniversary with a cover dedicated to Ecuadorian Park Yasuní.

Two night monkeys behind a tree formed the picture of the cover of the American publication entitled “Pushing the Limits of the Wild, Saving Ecuador’s Forest.”

The magazine dedicate this issue to ecology, history, culture, among other topics, providing an extensive report on the current status of the Yasuní, with a description of the fauna, flora and the sounds of its unique species. Indigenous communities that exist near the reserve are are highlighted in their relationship with the Waorani.

The photo-gallery, made by professional Steve Winter, captures the park’s biodiversity in addition to its concern about the presence of oil companies,  also an eminent issue in the article.
