Ana Maria Varea, MPD-List Pachakutik 15-18: “I will support in every way I can”

She is the wife of the Presidential candidate of the alliance MPD-Pachakutik, Alberto Acosta, whom she married 25 years ago and has two daughters. Her profession is a biologist and has dedicated thirty years of his life to defend the environmental cause. She has worked in Environmental Action Foundation and coordinates, in a national level, with the donations program of the United Nations.

Her struggle has focused on fighting the impacts generated by oil activities, mining, shrimp farming, forestry and plantations, among others, and has led her to community-based organizations and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to find solutions for environmental problems.

I don’t consider myself a first lady, but I will support en every way I can.” she adds: “My strength lies in the environment work with community organizations. In that, I have the experience and with that I will support in every possible space.”
