El Chucho Benitez will have its wake tomorrow in Quito

The body of the Ecuadorian striker Christian “Chucho” Benitez, who died yesterday in Qatar, will be returned to Ecuador on a private plane provided by the Arabic club “El Jaish”, in which Benitez was hired as a striker.

Chucho’s death occurred apparently from a derived cardiac arrest, probably from appendicitis, although there is no official version.

Several Ecuadorian soccer players from abroad, such as Christian Noboa, Antonio Valencia and Felipe Caicedo, will come to the country in the upcoming hours to accompany the Tricolor former striker and and say goodbye.

El Chucho will have its wake in the Rumiñahui General Coliseum of Quito, and his funeral would be held on Thursday, but it is unclear if he will be buried in the capital or in Esmeraldas.
