Ecudos resumed operations

After eight days of strike, yesterday afternoon, the sugar processing plant Ecudos became fully operational with the coverage of about 900 policemen, which helped granting access to the employees and workers who wanted to work on that day.

“We have a good percentage of people here, we are over 2000 employees who are already working. In a short time I have been told that they will turn on the furnaces,” said Claudio Guerra, chief operating officer of Ecudos.

Meanwhile, a group of about five thousand workers from the plant, gathered in the park of La Troncal canton, waiting for the dialogue initiative from the sugar processing company.

The strike led to the non-processing of about 11,000 tons of sugar cane per day. It stopped producing about 20 thousand sugar quintals per day.
