Assembly members of PAIS put conditions for exploitation in the Yasuni

With a majority, the assembly members of the ruling party are inclined to approve the request made by the President of Ecuador, Rafael Correa, about declaring as “national interest” the non-renewable from  blocks 31 and 43 of the Yasuní National Park, the only condition is to keep the area inhabited by peoples un voluntary isolation intact: taromenane and tagaeri.

After having a meeting no  Friday  in Quito with Vice President Jorge Glas and several Ministers of State, the Assembly’s Government members asked to update the maps un orden to show a  better delimitation of the so-called intangible zone Tagaeri-Taromenane within the Park.

Parliamentarians want to established in the document The approval of  some constraints such as the intangible zone, the form of exploitation, and the type of company that will perform the operation, then according to Virgilio Hernandez (AP) exploitation cannot be passed to private or transnational hands, it necessarily has to be a State-owned company.

On the other hand, during the last broadcast  the President said that those involved in the protests (referring to students of the Sierra) against the exploitation of the Yasuní will lose its quota in schools.

“If a student goes outside the establishment, outside class hours, we immediately will establishes a process where we will investigate the situation and the young will be withdrawn from the quota of the establishment where he was assigned,” said Education Minister Augusto Espinosa, who supports the decision of President Correa.
