Ibarra closed its festivities and celebrations with the ‘Zorro Hunting’

The most important equestrian event of Ecuador, the Zorro Hunting, at its forty- first edition lasted nine hours and had 632 horsemen and women, between experts and amateurs, who toured the main streets of the city of Ibarra.

After the parade, the four horsemen and women , called ‘zorros,’ descended the peñaroles in the mountains of  Loma de Guayabillas and the Mirador El Arcangel, reaching the shores of the Yahuarcocha lagoon. There, the riders demonstrated their skills performing tricks and stunts on the backs of their horses.

In the junior category, first to perform before more than 12,000 domestic and foreign tourists, the child Juan Najer received the recognition as best child rider, while in the youth category Martin Proaño managed to catch the ‘ horsewoman Maria Constanza Cadena, 15, who could take the tail.

In the Masters category, Angel Ina managed to snatch the tail of Fernando Christiansen, who used  the zorro outfit for the first time.

Rusbell Armando Pozo, 16, elite category, was the only zorro that kept his title  with her horse Tsunami who got his fourth title in the sport.
