According to The Wall Street Journal, Spain and France have collaborated with the U.S. government giving to its National Security Agency (NSA) confidential information of millions of citizens from these countries, courtesy of the espionage of their respective intelligence services.

This massive spying by the U.S. is causing great controversy, not only for stalking their own citizens, but also by monitoring 35 world leaders and millions of citizens in other countries.

In a period of 30 days between December 2012 and early 2013 the NSA spied around 70.3 million communications issued from France and more than 60 million phone calls in Spain.

U.S. officials, cited by the Journal, justify their actions by explaining that what happened is due to a misinterpretation of the documents leaked by Snowden, CIA former analyst.
