Huaorani Defense will ask for release of their members

The Huaorani tribe will ask for the release of its members in the coming days, after being accused of alleged genocide of taromenane clan members.
Lawyer Fausto Corral announced he will request a hearing for the substitution of the prision of five Huaorani. The leader Jorge Yeti said: “We do agree with the Court that gave the ratification”.
The resolution was passed with the support of eight of the nine members of the Constitutional Court, after an unknown number of Taromenane would have been murdered by Huaorani members in March 2013.
There are 17 defendants in the case, five of them arrested.
