Russia will send humanitarian aid to Ukraine jointly with the Red Cross
Russia, jointly with the Red Cross, will send a humanitarian convoy to the southeast of Ukraine, where the majority of victims is concentrated because of the fighting between separatists and Ukrainian forces, announced the Kremlin today.
The Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that he spoke with colleagues from the US, UK and other countries, in addition to leaders of the Red Cross to assist the suffering people of Donetsk and Lugansk regions.
“Russia, in cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross, will send a humanitarian convoy to Ukraine,” said the Kremlin in a statement.
The issue of humanitarian aid is “urgent”, “brooks no delay” and is “under the control of the President of the Russian Federation,” Lavrov said.
