Missouri governor ordered the withdrawal of the National Guard in Ferguson
The National Guard of Ferguson, has proceeded to withdraw from the town after the governor of Missouri, Jay Nixon gave the order, finding that the situation would calm down after several days of rioting over the death of an African American youth by shooting of a police.
The governor’s decision comes after a night of peaceful protest in which no serious incidents were recorded, and the visit of United States Attorney General, Eric Holder.
“While we continue to see improvements, I have ordered the Missouri National Guard to systematically begin the process of withdrawing from the city of Ferguson,” the governor said in a statement.
The governor added that “the situation has improved considerably with fewer incidents of outside instigators of interfering with peaceful demonstrators, and less violence.”
Nixon mobilized the National Guard on Monday after clashes between police and some protesters intensified that authorities said they came from outside Ferguson, a suburb located north of San Luis.
