Mayor Nebot returns $ 30 million corresponding for traffic competences

Guayaquil Mayor Jaime Nebot announced on Wednesday ,September 17, that he ordered the devolution of $ 30 million  the Ministry of Finance transferred to the Municipality  in order to assume control of the traffic competences in the city.

According to Nebot, he proceeded in this way because $ 15 million dollars must be added to this figure, which corresponds to the subsidy of public transportation. In addition, because the rate structure has not been fixed.

“The lords (of government) have to transfer $44 million 250 thousand dollars, not 30 million. What they have transferred corresponds to the the competences of traffic on registration, review and control, but not the subsidy that exceeds $ 15 million” said Nebot in a Teleamazonas TV interview.
