Correa says that the Mayor of Guayaquil has to assume the transit jurisdiction

President Rafael Correa pronounced on the position of the Mayor of Guayaquil Jaime Nebot on resisting to assume the transit responsibilities.

“He (Nebot) has, like it or not, to take responsibility. Nebot is fighting against himself and against the rule of law,” Correa said.

The President added that the idea that the government has the resources to increase the budget of the autonomous governments has to be forgotten.

“The government spends 9% of the State Budget to the autonomous governments. Discard the idea that only the Central Government has money because it is not like that,” he concluded.
