Berkeley (Missouri,) located in the downtown area of the US, was the scene of protests on Christmas Eve this year by racial tension after the murder of another young man afro.

Dozens of protesters held a vigil at the gas station in this suburb of Saint Louis where a young African American (Antonio Martin) who was armed was killed on Tuesday night, and briefly blocked traffic on Interstate 170 during a march before returning to the gas station.

Between six and eight people were arrested, said local police chief, Frank McCall.

Later, about 75 people held a peaceful protest on Christmas morning to a nearby church, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

The mayor of Berkeley, Theodore Hoskins, said surveillance footage appears to show that Martin aimed the officer with a weapon when the officer, 34 years, questioned him and another man in connection with a robbery at a store of basic goods.

These protests are repeated within a month of demonstrations that were unleashed last week against excessive police force to repress African Americans and which were not brought to justice.
