New rules of the Traffic Law will be published in the first week of January
The new rules for transit in the country will be published in the Official Register until next week. Thereafter the deadlines for its implementation shall become effective.
Among them is the six months deadline, in which the Transportation Regulatory Agency, the Service in Revenue and the Superintendency of Banks (while it is in charge of the insurance system), will debug information and data from the SOAT. They willalso structure the technology platform for the collection of the fee for the service that will be provided through the Public System for Payment of Traffic Accidents in the vehicle registration.
The Agency will also have a year to define the guidelines of the legal framework that land transport operators shall adopt to operate.The Superintendencies of Popular Economy and Companies, and Decentralized Autonomous Governments will take actions and will dictate the rules for its compliance.
In this same period, the Ecuadorian Vocational Training Service (Secap for its Spanish acronym) shall obtain the authorization from the Agency to educate and train the aspiring professional and non-professional drivers.
