Geophysical Institute of the National Polytechnic School flies over the Cotopaxi volcano

The Geophysical Institute of the National Polytechnic School performed a thermal and visual monitoring flight over the Cotopaxi, subsequently it published a report on its website.

During the overview no changes in the glacier that covers the volcano or its streams were observed, but gas emissions and fumaroles 300 meters above the crater were observed, according to the report.

As for the thermal monitoring, data of the study are similar to the base level that existed between 2003 and 2010.
