Relatives of missing persons submit their cases to the UN

The Association of Relatives and Friends of Disappeared Persons in Ecuador (Asfadec for its Spanish acronym) appeared before the Committee on Enforced Disappearances of the United Nations, 8 of the 200 cases of people reported missing since 2013. The document was also sent to other rapporteurs and they do not even rule out going to the Inter-American Human Rights System.
What the families of the eight missing people ask is that the UN urge the Ecuadorian State to fulfill its obligations of investigation, prosecution and punishment of cases, as required by Section 3 of that convention; and to required updated and accurate information about missing persons in Ecuador.
