Managers of the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) company said to the Indian station NDTV they have not yet been notified on the decision of the Ecuadorian government to unilaterally terminate the contract of the purchase of seven Dhruv helicopters.

On Wednesday, Defense Minister Fernando Cordero argued that the company had consistently failed to comply with the delivery of spare parts; and that the last two accidents (of four) would have been caused by “mechanical failure,”according to the investigation boards.

The media reported yesterday that the authorities “insist” that “all the spare parts of the” were delivered on time. They also states, according to the TV chain, they had not access to the reports on investigations that detected the alleged mechanical failure.

The report, published in www.ndtv.com concluded that the decision of Ecuador “will affect” the intentions of the company to attract foreign customers for the sale of Dhruv helicopters.
