The Higher Education Act, sent to revision at the request of students
After five years of existence, the Organic Law on Higher Education (LOES) will be evaluated. That is the decision of the National Assembly. The review shall be made before the concerns of some students who have failed to be accepted by universities and the protests of the parents.
The president of the Legislature, Gabriela Rivadeneira and Assemblyman of PAIS, Diego Veintimilla, announced that it was necessary to make a review of the legal standard. For this, a technical-legislative team will be formed to investigate the application of the law on higher education institutions.
“According to the results arising from the revision of the law we can raise the strengths and weaknesses that can be remedied by the Legislature based on the improvement of the Higher Education Act,” said the head of the Legislature.
