Isaiah brothers will claim the payment of court expenses

The lawyer of Roberto and William Isaías, former owners of the extinct Filanbanco, announced yesterday he will begin the process so that the brothers recover the money spent on defending from the lawsuit brought by the state in 2009.
The process intended to charge, in the United States, the “pending payout values” the Isaias brothers would owe in Ecuador. At the beginning of the trial, the Attorney General argued that they owed $ 661.5 million for “the loss of Filanbanco.”
However, last November 15, the Florida judge, John Thornton, ruled in favor of the Isaias brothers and denied any charge to the state. Michael Stein, who represents them in Florida (USA), explained during a press conference through Skype, that they could claim “several million dollars,”as they have defended themselves through some law firms in the US and Ecuador.
Tein said that in order to request the payment, the process has two stages: first asking a judge to determine they are entitled to recover the value of fees; and second, to collect all the bills of the law firms.
