Legislators, justice and order authorities had a new year´s eve dinner at Carondelet

President Rafael Correa offered a new year´s eve dinner that was attended by Alianza Pais assembly members, control and justice authorities, military leaders and the police commander. The celebration took place in the banquet hall of the Carondelet Palace, on December 29.
The first to arrive was the superintendent of communication, Carlos Ochoa, followed by the executive secretary of Alianza País, Doris Soliz.
The president of the Judicial Council, Gustavo Jalkh, and the prosecutor Galo Chiriboga also attended the event.
Most attendees wore black as a sign of mourning for the death of Serrano, 82, who died early today from cancer. At the end of the toast, the President remembered him as an honorable person.
Those who were dressed differently from the other guests were the generals of the Joint Command of the Armed Forces. Carlos Obando y Raul Banderas, commanders of the Army and the Air Force, as well as Vice Admiral Luis Santiago, head of the Navy, wore their A4 suits for special ceremonies.
At the beginning of the dinner, Vice President Jorge Glas greeted the guests. So did the president of the National Assembly, Gabriela Rivadeneira, who was dressed in black, perhaps by the death of legislator Nelson Serrano. President Correa, however, wore a green tie in the style of Alianza País and also a black suit.
