28 policemen arrived yesterday at Montañita

This past Friday, 28 elite police officers, from the Immigration and Drug Enforcement Department, arrived at Montañita. All of them gathered and received their orders: accompanied by patrolmen, they will realize operatives, checking the inputs and outputs in the village.

The police state that the retail drug sales are not very high, but they intend to abolish it. “This is one of our priorities” added Ramiro Mantilla, the police director of the operation.

Between January and February, there have been 7 antinarcotic operations and there were 12 micro traffic detainees. Nowadays, local bars and discos close at 4 AM. It is discussed with the Municipality, the Tourism Ministry, and the community to modify the schedule. (I)
