A little optimism for the construction of port

The shipping industry is growing immeasurably and world trade is declining or is static. Cargo movement is decreasing and Ecuador is promoting the construction of new docks.

The a final reflection is simple, as paraphrasing the song by Gran Combo of Puerto Rico: “no load for too many ports” (“no hay carga pa’ tanto puerto”). That is, more or less, the conclusion of Julian Palacio, president of the Latin American Association of Ports and Terminals (Latinports), yesterday during the International Congress ‘Latest Trends for the Regional Port System,’ organized by the Maritime Chamber of Ecuador (Camae).

Following the adoption of the Law on Public Private Partnership, the Government signed an agreement with the Turkish firm Yilport for the investment of about 750 million in Puerto Bolivar and has a letter of intent with Dp World to invest other 1.200 million in Posorja.
