Manabi leads the loan segment

Popular finances are the favorite sector of the province.

It is a pillar of the economy. Manabi moves large amounts of loans, deposits and savings. The popular finance sector is an example. Before the earthquake of April 16, the province led lending operations.

According to the National Corporation of Popular and Solidarity Finance, between January and March this year 7,252 operations were performed. Of this amount, 18.85% was from Manabi, that means 1,367 loans. (See table).

In dollars, the amount represents $ 1.8 million. Santo Domingo, Los Rios and Tungurahua also exceeded one million dollars in transactions. In total, the financial segment moved $ 11.7 million.

Esmeraldas, one of the provinces affected by the earthquake in April, recorded only 101 operations for $ 82,514. In total, the two provinces equal 1,468 loans in the first quarter of this year (I).
