Ecuador takes Rio

Ecuador was welcomed with great fanfare upon its arrival at the Olympic Village in Rio de Janeiro, during the official welcome of the tricolor team in Brazil, whose central axis was the hoisting of the national flag, which already flames awaiting for the opening ceremony to be held tomorrow at 18:00.

An entourage composed of seven athletes from four different disciplines as well as the president of the Ecuadorian Olympic Committee (COE) Augusto Moran, and the chief of Mission Miguel Nacer Chavarria, took part in vibrant and lively welcome, where Ecuador received the logo of the Games and the National Anthem was sung.

The delegations of Saudi Arabia, Belarus, France, Oman and Guyana were also present.

After the protocol and the traditional exchange of pins, about 30 dancers enlivened the ceremony and posed with athletes, coaches and leaders, to shout in unison “Ecuador, Ecuador, Ecuador …”
