The hearing for the murder of the Argentine tourists began

The trial hearing against Segundo Ponce Mina and Eduardo Aurelio De la A Rodriguez (aka “el rojo”), charged for the murder of Argentine tourists Marina Menegazzo and Maria Jose Coni, occurred in late February, began Monday, August 8th at 9:00.
The procedure takes place in the Provincial Court of Justice of Santa Elena, where the families of the victims arrived from Argentina.
Gladys Stefanny, mother of Maria Jose Coni, said that it is expected that justice shines. “If those arrested are guilty, they shall be subjected to the full force of law, but all those that were involved in the murder shall be punished too,” she said.
Meanwhile, Paula Menegazzo, sister of Marina, hopes during that this process clarifies all that happened, “we want to know why they did it,” she stated.
There are 50 witnesses among police experts and community members who shall appear before the Criminal Court.
