Veolia denounces Galileo Energy, a Petroecuador contractor, for fraud

Veolia Es Field Services filed a fraud complaint against Galileo Energy, a Petroecuador contractor, in October 2016.

The state oil company contracted Veolia, a company recognized for the management of toxic waste that results from the refining of petroleum products. However, the firm assures that this hiring was a supposed deception of Galileo. Veolia is established under the laws of England and Wales and is a subsidiary of France’s SARP Industries.

Both companies belong to the Veolia Group, which has a hazardous waste disposal plant in Europe. The documentation of this lawsuit is part of the process followed by Prosecutor Jacinto Tibanlombo, for the alleged prosecution of 18 defendants, including officials and contractors from Petroecuador.

Nicholas Morgan, director of the multinational, granted a special power of attorney last October 20 to Attorney Jose Moreno, of the Solines, Gómez & Aguayo law firm, to carry out administrative, criminal and civil actions against Galileo and his representatives: Ramiro Luque and Glenda Meza.
