The president maintains the military commands

Six days after his inauguration, President Lenin Moreno informed the military high command of his decision to maintain it. He did it behind closed doors, accompanied by his Defense Minister Miguel Carvajal.

This ended the uncertainty within the three branches of the Armed Forces, fearing that the new Government would decide to take over a new command, when only five months ago Rafael Correa beheaded the Joint Command, the Navy and the Air Force, and barely two months and a half ago the commander of the Army was removed from office (I).
