Ecuador denies that the wall disrespects the peace agreement

Ecuador defends the construction of a wall of 2.6 kilometers, on the right bank of the Zarumilla River, and denies the fact it violates the peace agreement signed with Peru in 1998, as alleged by the government of the neighboring country, which requested Monday the immediate stoppage of the work and an urgent meeting with the Ecuadorian authorities.
The Minister of Urban Development and Housing María Alejandra Vicuña, who will travel in the next few days to Huaquillas, said that the wall is only the support for the landfill (I).
