In Quinindé trash is thrown to the car of former president Rafael Correa

A group of people who chanted “Siete veces sí” threw waste to several of the cars that accompanied former President Rafael Correa during a campaign tour of the popular referendum in the province of Esmeraldas.
It happened in Quinindé the morning of this Wednesday, while the former president was in the Radio Magic station giving an interview.
According to Correa, municipal employees were those who attacked his car and broke windows of the station. Another car was painted with the word Yes. According to the former president, the radio where he was interviewed was surrounded for several minutes by people from the Municipality of Quinindé, “with some leaders of the MPD, who were also in Bourbon.”
Protesters were dispersed with tear gas and police aid. When the vehicle passed after the exit of Correa and its neighbors from the station, other people threw more objects. Already around 12:10 he published that he could leave together with some of his supporters.
The Ministry of the Interior rejected the acts of violence that occurred on Wednesday in Quinindé and asked the citizens to maintain order. In a press release, he reported that he will investigate these events and those responsible for the attacks against public order and private and public property.
In addition, they assured that they will report on the incidents to the competent authorities so that the case can be prosecuted.
Attacks in several provinces
In different locations in Ecuador, where he has been campaigning, Correa has been attacked with eggs by opposition groups. Ecuador will live a popular consultation this coming Sunday, February 4; the popular campaign ends this Thursday. (I)
