National Electoral Council disseminates final data of the consultation

The National Electoral Council (CNE) of Ecuador ratified the final results of the consultation and referendum last Sunday in two meetings held by the plenary of that body today.
The scrutiny verification was announced today by the Plenary at the end of 100% of the 35,183 electoral acts, including those from abroad, and among which 9 were found inconsistent among the seven questions.
A CNE source told Efe that a 48-hour period is now open for any citizen or organization wishing to challenge the result.
At the official closing of the minutes, the question that received the most support, 73.71%, was the first one, which asked to permanently disable any public office that incurred corruption offenses.
Question 4, the fight against pedophilia through the non-prescription of this type of crime, was the second with greater approval, and obtained 73.53% of the votes in favor.
It is followed by 68.62% of the votes, the imposition of environmental restrictions on metallic mining, which was question 5, and then 7 with 67.31% of support and which will reduce the exploitation area in the Natural Park of the Yasuní
The three who won less votes were the 2, the 3 and the 6, central axis of the campaign for the No of the ex-president Rafael Correa, ex religionist of the current president, Lenin Moreno, but with whom he has been estranged since he transferred the power in May 2017
Of these, 2, prohibit the re-election of candidates more than once, was backed by 64.2% of citizens, while the 6 that void a law controversial Plusvalía soil, 63.1% .
Finally, the least support was recorded restructuring of the Council of Citizen Participation and regulatory and state control seen by the opposition as correísta- stronghold, with 63.08% of the votes for Social Control entity.
The Inter-American Court of Human Rights (CorteIDH) reported today that it rejected a request for provisional measures requested against the State of Ecuador for this question of the popular referendum.
Question 3 had been challenged before the Court because correístas circles considered it a form of the current president to control the instances of control and regulation of the state and concentration of power, which made her his opinion on “unconstitutional”. (I)
