Ecuadornews:

TheVenezuelans captured women to participate in private parties on a floor of theForum building. Three victims are minors. On October 4, a call through the 1800CRIME alerted the authorities about what was happening on the 27th floor of theForum building, located on Velez Street between March 6 and Pedro Moncayo.

In one of the departments private parties were held as bachelor parties, where 7 Venezuelan women offered sex work. The women lived on floors 6 and 14 of the building (they paid $ 15 a day) built 40 years ago and which for some time was the highest in the city.

They arrived in the country hoping to get work, the same one that was offered by one of the three Venezuelans detained in the operation called “Libertad 2”, carried out by the Unit against the Crime of Trafficking in Persons and Trafficking of Immigrants of the National Police.

Among foreigners apprehended is a 50-year-old individual who is the owner of 6 more apartments in the same building, located across from Centennial Park. The other two detainees were in charge of the recruitment of girls and collections.

The women, having no economic income and falling behind with the rent, were forced to work on the 27th floor in exchange for $ 75, value of which the rent payment was discounted.

Commander Tanya Varela confirmed that among the women were three minors, between 16 and 17 years old, who are now in a foster home. The other 4 women refused to enter the protection system and after verifying their immigration status they were released.

The Venezuelan consular authorities in Guayaquil manage the procedures to contact the relatives of the minors. The operation was executed after a month of investigation when a party was held in one of the departments of R. Choi, who is also the administrator of a dating website for gentlemen.

“Severalof the meetings were also agreed through social networks and WhatsApp,”said General Varela, who added that they will investigate how the apprehendedobtained the money to acquire several apartments in the building. At thearraignment hearing, the three Venezuelans were remanded in custody for thealleged crime of sexual exploitation. (I)
