A Bill for Handicapped People was Approved
On Tuesday the National Ecuadorian Assembly passed with 94 votes (from all attendants in the room) the Organic Bill for Hadicapped People.
The text has 118 articles and contains a number of benefits for people with disabilities, including tax exemptions, access to scholarships, and job guarantees.
It also provides that within one year of public transport and public and private institutions must adapt their facilities to allow the access for people with disabilities.
The approved project will be submitted to the Executive in 30 days which is going to make observations. (MZ)
