Ecuadornews:
The call came up all of sudden. The of a press conference summoned by Gabriela Rivadeneira and other legislators arrived at the Legislature at 09:45. The PAIS Executive Secretary was joined by 21 legislators; the majority did not sign the support agreement backing the President and the referendum.
The 22 legislators pledged “loyalty and to defend the principles and achievements of the citizen revolution, led by Rafael Correa,” in addition to supporting the proposals of the government that won the elections on April 2.
