The mayor of Guayaquil Jaime Nebot chaired this afternoon in the City Hall a meeting to reach an agreement and define a march that demands the electoral authorities to give the total results of last Sunday’s presidential election.
Once the date of the march was chosen and at the request of the attendees, he and hundreds of Guayaquil citizens headed immediately towards the Electoral Delegation of Guayas to define the second presidential runoff.
After listening to leaders and citizens who came to his call, the mayor of Guayaquil proposed to stage an enormous “march” in defense of democracy on Wednesday March 8 at 15:00.
The mayor of the city said that next week is too short to organize a mulitudinal march. “We think there are two timelines,” he said, “on Monday, March 6, the anniversary of the Marchist Revolution, or Wednesday the 8th. At 3:00 p.m. at the Avenue of Freedom, the 9 de Octubre Avenue.”
