A resounding military gesture
Plaudits for the institutional support of the military high command to officers prosecuted for alleged crimes against humanity arrived yesterday from two sides: the barracks and military in passive service.
Military in active duty, under condition of anonymity, said they were supported by the presence of the head of the Joint Command, Luis Garzon; the Army commander Carlos Obando, and the Air ForceCommander Raul Banderas; and other senior officers of the three branches of the Armed Forces in the audience of the beginning of the trial stage for alleged crimes against humanity against five former police agents and military retirees.
“The position is institutional, said Monday the senior officers, who yesterday received many gestures of support for their action. Defense Minister Fernando Cordero had not ruled until last night despite multipleinterview requests from the media.
