A special commission will seek amnesty for 177 activists

Legislature President Jose Serrano (AP) announced that a special commission will analyze the request for amnesty for 177 people, filed yesterday by the Confederation of Indigenous Nationalities of Ecuador (Conaie).
The letter calls for the immediate release of those deprived of liberty and the revocation of arrest warrants. Likewise, they order that any alternative penalty to imprisonment be extinguished.
