Abdala Bucaram says he is going to be candidate

Former president, Abdala Bucaram Ortiz
Upon acceptance of his application, and therefore, the corresponding immunity granted by the National Electoral Council (CNE for its Spanish acronym), the leader of the Partido Roldosista Ecuatoriano (PRE), Abdala Bucaram Ortiz, will come to the country to develop his presidential campaign.
This morning, on an interview with Ecuavisa, from Panama, Bucaram using his classic style, attacked President Correa and his regime by stating that Ecuador is governed by what he called the fifth power “which is organized political class, which is a mafia, which has plundered the branches of government.”
Altough, he said, he respects the other presidential contenders, particularly Mr. Noboa, Lasso, Gutierrez and Acosta, he said “they don’t have enough political character to confront Correa” and even called them “useful fools of the plot that Mr. Correa has created.”
Finally, he said he was sure of his victory because “the strength of the poor never dies“, and also certain that President Correa, for the fear he has of his electoral participation, will call Panama “desperately asking to shut Bucaram up, because he is violating the Asylum Law.” (MZ)
