According to Correa, the hardest part of the protests has passed
Posted On 29 Jun 2015
Rafael Correa, president of Ecuador, considers that the hardest of the protests has passed, though he said that these claims regenerated by groups he describes as opposition could be reiterated after the visit of Pope Francis to the country.
He said he is a responsible president and his intention is to achieve a more equitable country, for that reason he submitted two bills to the Assembly. “But as these gentlemen think they are the owners of the country and the planet, their distempered shouts ‘Out Correa Out’ are heard, they can shout whatever they want, I am proud when I receive an insult from certain sectors of the old country, but democracy will triumph here.”He received the thanks of the Secretary of the Union of Drivers of Manta, Victor Chiriboga, for the support of the Renova Plan, a bus fare subsidy for minority groups intended for public transportation buses, roads and even security.
Finally, Correa made a call not to be deceived and made a call to the drivers to be vigilant at any time, anywhere in the country, to defend the citizens’ revolution.
